The purpose of the Florida Translational Research Program is to produce a pipeline of potential new medicines based on laboratory research discoveries. The program provides Florida-based scientists with access to experienced professionals and advanced technologies to facilitate an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to developing new treatments for today’s most challenging and unmet medical needs. The program is funded by the State of Florida through the Florida Department of Health and is administered by Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute at Lake Nona.

Solicitations

The first solicitation of HTS-assays began on November 15, 2012. Successful applicants will be notified in February. This first year is a pilot phase with only three project slots available. Future calls will solicit projects that may not yet be HTS ready and may require assay development services from Sanford-Burnham.
