Marco Maruggi's Research Focus

Organogenesis occurs over a range of time as various pathways lead to the determination of cell fates. As related to the pancreas, Marco is using the zebrafish model to identify and study these pathways regulating organ progenitor cell specification. Using insight into this process, his goal is to use in vivo reprogramming to induce new organ formation in an adult animal.
