Khooshbu Shah's Research Focus

Arrythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia/Cardiomyopathy (ARVD/C) is a genetic, inheritable condition which is often caused by mutations in specific desmosomal proteins. ARVD/C primarily affects young adults and is a leading cause of death for young athletes. Khooshbu is interested in re-creating ARVD/C in a dish with the use of induced pluripotent stem cells in order to evaluate potential therapies for the disease.
