Gary F. Raisl, MBA, Ed.D., is the executive vice president, chief administrative officer, chief financial officer and treasurer for the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute. In this role, Dr. Raisl provides strategic direction and oversight of the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of Sanford-Burnham’s California and Florida campuses.

Prior to joining Sanford-Burnham in March 2009, he was vice president for finance and administration at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle, Washington. Prior to that, Dr. Raisl served as vice president for finance and administration and treasurer at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Neumann College. Dr. Raisl began his career in finance and administration at the City University of New York and Bronx Community College.

Dr. Raisl received his B.A. with honors from the University of Notre Dame; his M.A. and M.Phil., degrees from Columbia University; his M.B.A. from Widener University and his doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also studied at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, the Harvard Business School, Yale University’s School of Management and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Raisl has held leadership positions in various national and regional professional associations and business collaborations. He currently serves as the Treasurer/CFO of the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine.
