Dr. Powis has pioneered the targeting of signaling pathways for cancer drug discovery. His research follows an integrated path from target discovery, through probe compound development, and biomarker discovery. His drug discovery work has led to development of three novel targeted agents currently in clinical testing, and several more agents in preclinical development.
Dr. Ingrid Wertz is a scientist at Genentech helping patients through scientific discoveries. The primary mission of the Wertz Lab is to continue to identify and characterize the substrates and enzymes that regulate pathogenic signaling pathways. Ultimately, our better understanding of human disease may be translated to the benefit of patients by revealing critical diagnostic markers and disease targets for pharmacological intervention.
