Deborah Robison Joins Burnham Institute for Medical Research as Communications Director for Burnham at Lake Nona

ORLANDO, Fla. , September 8, 2008

Deborah Robison(Orlando, FL) - September 8, 2008 - Burnham Institute for Medical Research (Burnham) has appointed Deborah Robison as Communications Director for Burnham at Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida. Robison will serve as the primary media liaison in Florida. Her responsibilities include communicating the research accomplishments of Burnham researchers to the general public and raising community awareness of Burnham and its contributions to the life science industry in Central Florida.

“Deborah’s extensive public relations experience will be an asset to our Lake Nona team as we continue to keep the community informed about the development of our East Coast campus and the research being done by our growing faculty,” said Andrea Moser, Vice President of Communications for Burnham. “Throughout her career Deborah has helped many highly respected organizations launch new ventures. She will strengthen our communications efforts throughout Florida, while also helping to support our national communications program.”

Ms. Robison is a communications professional with experience in consumer, business to business and trade communications.  Robison joins Burnham from Darden Restaurants, where as Director of Media and Communications for Seasons 52, she was responsible for introducing Darden’s newest restaurant concept in new markets. She has created numerous outreach programs to promote healthy lifestyles. 

Previously, as the Public Relations Director for SeaWorld Orlando, she led the communications effort for new attractions and international publicity. Prior to locating in Florida, she had a lengthy career in New York City at D-A-Y Public Relations and as a Senior Vice President at Ogilvy Mather PR, New York. 
Ms. Robison earned her B.S. in nutrition from Pennsylvania State University and is also a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association.
